I've had the opportunity to
visit Perryton several times in
the past 6 months. I've lived
in such "small" towns such as
Los Angeles, New York and
Phoenix.... So you can imagine
how new an experience Perryton
is for me. I find the town
enchanting and have met some
very nice individuals. It's a
town with so much potential for
growth, but yet keeping it's
roots still firm. I find the
crime stoppers program to be
very positive and I wish we did
the same in our newspapers here
in Arizona. Thank you to many
I've met there....

I really thought I had already
posted here but I guess not.
You know even though some of us
did stupid things when we were
in Perryton, we can still grow
up and be productive in todays
society. I really miss
PHS, The Dixie Dog,even thought
about me crashing my mustang
into the column at Dairy Queen.
I forgot to apologize for that
one. I sure have grown
remindful of all the fine folks
there. My sis still lives
up there but folks have since
moved to east Texas, so I
haven't been to Perryton since
1991. I don't even get any
info on any class reunions.
I think that is sad. I did
okay for myself. I am
married with 4 boys. 1 from
previous marriage, 2 step-sons,
and proud father of 6 yr old.
I hope that folks would remember
the good things about me and not
the bad. Look forward to
hearing from some of my old
class mates and anyone that
might know me or my family.
I even went on to college for
all my old teachers that thought
I wouldn't.

Just wanted to say hello to
anybody I knew back when I lived
there. Left Perryton in early
70's and moved to Austin to live
with my mother. Came back to

Graduated from High School in
78. Was there back about 2000
and attended a reunion. Great to
see alot of people I went to
grade school with. Don't get up
that way anymore, most of my
family there passed away.
Perryton will always hold a
special place in my heart. My
grandparents, and parents
graduated from there. My mother
was Miss Perryton back in 58,
and my aunt in the early 60's.
Hope everyone is doing good,

I went to elementary school
there back in the 70's.
There was a boy that I called
"hey stupid" to. I was
only flirting if that was what
it was called. I really
did like the boy, but thought
that being mean would get his
attention. Well it did,
what I said hit a sore spot, the
principal had to come out and
pull him off of me. Now I
know "stupid" can be a harsh and
condemning word. I want to
apologize to him, whole
heartedly. I know this
email may never reach him, but
hopefully I'll feel better about
my first fight--with a boy!!

It is so fun to type in my
maiden name, "McGarraugh" and
know that I am somehow related
to the McGarraughs listed
and especially the ones in
Perryton. My father's name
is Dennis. His sister's
name is Merry-Margaret (McGarraugh)
Rider. They had a brother,
Bud, who passed away a long time
ago as a young man.
Merry-Margaret has been to a few
McGarraugh reunions in Texas.
Their father owned some property
in Texas and so did their uncle.
However, he did not raise
Merry-Margaret, Bud, and my Dad
in Texas. They remember
going to Texas in the Summer to
visit all of their relatives
when they were children. I
believe a school house was built
on their father's property that
may even still be there?
I'm not sure what his name was.
We would really like to attend a
family reunion if another one
happens in Perryton, but are
somewhat shy if this would be
welcome since we aren't sure
about our connections.
Both my father and aunt are not
doing too well regarding their
health and won't be with us much
longer. But my two sisters
and I would like to be connected
with our roots. If anyone
in Perryton would like to
respond who remembered
Merry-Margaret, and could share
information with me, that would
be great.Thanks

I lived in Perryton from approx.
'84-'88. Although I went to Jr
High and High school there, I
ended up graduating in Pampa,
TX. My father Bobby Jeff
Robinson moved to Pampa while I
was attending Basic Training
with the Army. I still view
Perryton as my home town even
though I was there just a short
while. I do miss the Dixie Dog,
Sonic, and even the Dairy Queen.
I used to love free ice cream
from the the Padilla family.
They owned it back then I think.
I loved those folks. Good
hearted just like the rest of
the town back then. I am looking
for folks who I grew up with:
Aaron Youtsey, Erron Savage
(your parents were the best!),
Perry Jines (loved your musical
talent), even those
McGarraugh(sp) boys. Now those
were some parties. Im totally
missing alot of the friends I
had back then, sorry about that.
I am currently living in
California and would love to
hear from folks who remember me.
Its good to touch base with
those you loved.
